Deploy the container, not just the code

A Dockerfile or a compose file, with the same releases, health check and rollback.

Point Shipown at a repository or folder with a Dockerfile or Compose file. Build on the server, or build target-platform images with Linux Docker on your PC and send them over SSH for docker load without a remote rebuild. Containers are published behind Nginx; failed releases restore the previous container or Compose release, and retained images support rollback. A server without Docker can have it installed from the app.

Technical Specification & Protocols

COMMUNICATION PROTOCOLPure SSHv2 Protocol with atomic filesystem symlinks
SECURITY BOUNDARYNo agent installed on the server; every deploy and rollback recorded in a local history file

Command Execution Pattern

# Atomic release switching pattern:
ln -sfn $HOME/push-ops/apps/<app>/releases/8f21c0 $HOME/push-ops/apps/<app>/current
sudo systemctl reload nginx
pm2 reload ecosystem.config.js

Architectural Guarantees

  • ✓Atomic pointer swap ensures zero downtime during code promotion
  • ✓Automated health check verification before live traffic routing
  • ✓Instant rollback to previous known-good release on health check failure
