Deployments & Releases

Every deploy writes a new release directory and the current pointer moves only after the health check passes. Roll back to an earlier release from the same screen.

Deployments & Releases

01.How It Works

Choose Build on server or Build on this PC for either a local folder or GitHub source. Server builds install and compile remotely. PC builds use a temporary copy, upload a verified production artifact over SSH and skip remote installation/building. Static sites use your local build tools; Node/Next.js and Dockerfile/Compose builds require Linux Docker on the PC and target the server architecture. Node builds also check Node version/ABI and libc compatibility. A deploy writes a separate release and restores the previous release on a failed health check. Build location, commit, release and outcome are recorded on this computer and the choice is remembered for redeploys.

Step A
Zero Cloud Relays

Client-side operations encrypted directly between your desktop and target server.

Step B
Credentials stay on your computer

SSH keys, passwords and API keys are held by the desktop app and encrypted with your OS keychain.

02.Key Capabilities

# What Shipown runs on the server, over your own SSH connection
$ pm2 jlist
$ docker ps -a --format '{{json .}}'
[ok] Connected to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (x86_64)

03.Configuration & Setup

1
Initialize target configurationPick one of your saved servers, or add it with its host, port, user and SSH key.
2
Deploy & MonitorVerify telemetry in real time without polling overhead.
